The Okanagan doesn't stop when the wineries close. It moves downtown, to the patios, to the barrel-lit cocktail rooms, and to the corner tables where the chefs still cook by hand.

This is the guide to that other half of the day. Every place here has a real reputation — four stars or better on Google, no exceptions. Some are winery restaurants that stay open into the evening. Some are downtown standbys that have been here for decades. Some are new. All of them are worth the drive.

And when you're done — we'll take you home safe.

Oliver

Vineyard rooms with the biggest cellars.

Oliver calls itself the Wine Capital of Canada, and its restaurants live up to it. Sonora Room at Burrowing Owl is a South Okanagan institution. Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek does Mediterranean-Okanagan crossovers with a wood-fired oven. And Backyard Farm's private chef's table is one of the most talked-about dining experiences in the valley.
